Three years ago, matriarch Karen fled New Orleans on the heels of a nervous breakdown. She returns to her family home to find it up for sale under mysterious circumstances, and her older brother and two daughters struggling to keep their heads above water. No amount of Scotch, constructing a giant paper mache cockroach, and involving herself in her daughter's love lives can stop the wheels of progress. With the loss of thier family home looming, the ghosts of the past, literal and figurative, grow louder as the family is forced to reckon with their complicated past, the nature of family, legacy and ambition.
